UNTITLED MONUMENTS comes forth from a collaboration with the National Museum in Serbia. The work departs from a selection of 15th and 16th century vertebrae that were discarded from the museum's archive. The work points at the ambiguous status of human remains and their role in the construction of historical narrative, particularly in the context of former Yugoslavia. Human remains—even when they lack any historical significance—set out highly charged discourse of scientific rationality, property and especially human rights.
